Former "HOUSE" Star Links White House to NEA Scandal

Former actor and present White House associate director of public engagement Kalpen Modi was directly involved in planning the controversial conference call hosted by a National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) flack to encourage tax-supported artists to create propaganda for President Obama, according to emails obtained by Judicial Watch via a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.
The emails reveal that Modi worked with now-former NEA national communications director Yosif Sargant in planning the August 10 conference call that was first revealed by Andrew Breitbart's Big Hollywood.com web site. Participants in the conference call were encouraged to use their talents to generate public support for the Obama agenda in Congress.

One gentleman had to be asked by the moderators to refrain from his increasingly hostile and incomprehensible line of questioning after accosting Mr. LeMunyon for not supporting abortion or his wishes to marry another man. Mr. LeMunyon tried to calmly state his position but was continually interrupted by the irate man.
After an almost identical question from a teenager in the audience Mr. LeMunyon explained,"I think it's important that the government leave people alone, to get back to the idea of limited government. There are going to be those cases when government needs to interact and intersect with those positions. My positions are very clear on that and I understand that people disagree on those things."
When the teenager continued to press for a different answer Mr. LeMunyon said, "I respect your point of view and we will have to agree to disagree."
A Chuck Caputo supporter then proceeded to yell out an expletive not suitable for print.
Mr. LeMunyon bravely held his own and responded, "I’m proud of my pro-life stance."
The attacks on Mr. LeMunyon seemed too rehearsed to be by chance. In a recent television ad, Mr. LeMunyon berates Del. Caputo for going on vacation instead of attending a special legislative session on transportation in 2008, missing 39 votes. In that ad he shows a picture of his opponent wearing a festive Hawaiian lei. In a supposed sign of solidarity for missing those votes, about 15 Caputo supporters wore lei’s to the forum. Those supporters were at the center of the agitation for Mr. LeMunyon and the GOP candidates.

It has been determined conclusively that the classroom is located at Chantilly High School, and that the photo was clearly staged for campaign purposes. The picture includes numerous Chantilly High School students showing disrespect for school property, and a Caputo paid campaign staffer, who is not a CHS student, sitting on top of a tall cabinet.
“Virginia law clearly prohibits the use of tax dollars, directly or indirectly, to further the interests of a partisan political campaign. You don’t need to be a lawyer to know this,” said Tim Edson, LeMunyon for Delegate campaign manager. “In addition, Fairfax County Public School regulations clearly prohibit such activity. Mr. Caputo owes the taxpayers an apology for this abuse.”
“Jim LeMunyon has met privately with the Chantilly High School principal, Jim Kacur, on this matter. We are satisfied that Mr. Kacur is taking actions necessary to stop the Caputo campaign from continuing to use the photo to attack Jim LeMunyon during the remaining days of the campaign. We also understand that Mr. Kacur has launched an internal investigation at CHS to determine how this violation of school regulations occurred,” said Edson.
Caputo may also be in trouble with respect to Virginia’s campaign finance law, which requires that non-cash, “in-kind” contributions of value be reported by the campaign to the State Board of Elections along with cash contributions. Mr. Caputo’s finance reports make no reference to an in-kind contribution by Chantilly High School for use of the space for the photo shoot, nor any reference that the school was paid by the campaign to use the space.
By "coincidence", Mr. Caputo’s campaign treasurer,Ted Velkoff , is also the PTA president at Chantilly High School.

What is it with the dems insulting the American people's intelligence every time there is an election or a Bill they want to pass? They lie, mislead and go so far off the grid that you wonder if they are really that stupid or is it they think that "We the People" are that stupid. Yesterday I got a mailer from Chuck Caputo, on the front was a picture of a white, blond, little girl with bruises on her face. The heading said " JIM LEMUNYON WOULD ALLOW HER ABUSER TO BUY A GUN"
It goes on to explain that Federal Law prohibits convicted abusers but leaps to the conclusion that Jim LeMunyon wants abusers to have guns because he says the Federal Law is enough.
This ad not only is a ridiculous LIE and disgraceful display of desperation it insults the intelligence of the Voters in Virginia. Anyone who believes this ad should not be allowed to vote. And any politician who approved such a ad should be thrown out of office. This add has the corrupt, greasy fingerprints of the "CHICAGO WAY Democrat Party" all over it.
In previous posts, I said Chuck Caputo was a nice guy but the wrong guy. After yesterdays ad I no longer believe that. Chuck Caputo is just another lying politician who will say and do anything to keep his job and has no problem insulting your intelligence in order to do it. Of course Virginia is a mandate on Obama and the Democrats performance. If Deeds was behind by less than 5 or tied, you could blame the loss on Deeds, BUT this election looks like it will be a crushing defeat, and that you can lay at Obama's clay feet.

I have been clear that I agree with the GOP to the extent that candidates should match their districts. I am not opposed to, for example, a Mark Kirk in Illinois, or a Mike Castle in Delaware, though I won’t lift a finger to help him. I understand that to get to 51% we have to have our share of Chris Shays’s.
But, in races like the Florida Senate and New York 23, when a conservative can win, a conservative should be supported. Conservatives are the base of the Republican Party.
I hope I have helped change the party’s electoral orthodoxy. Right now it involves telling the base to fork over the dough and shut the hell up.
We will no longer stay silent. NY-23 makes very clear that the GOP needs the conservative base more than the conservative base needs the GOP.

Rep. Edolphus Towns (D-N.Y.) locked Republicans out of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee room to keep them from meeting when Democrats aren’t present.
Towns’ action came after repeated public ridicule from the leading Republican on the committee, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), over Towns’s failure to launch an investigation into Countrywide Mortgage’s reported sweetheart deals to VIPs
“The origins of the financial crisis lie in the collapse of the housing market – a collapse that was spurred on by reckless and irresponsible lending policies at companies such as Fannie Mae and Countrywide,” said Rep. Issa. “The benefits and strategy behind the Countrywide VIP program were reminiscent of the benefits Jack Abramoff bestowed on individuals with political influence. This Committee, on a bipartisan basis, conducted a targeted investigation into the Jack Abramoff scandal. It needs to investigate Countrywide’s efforts to buy influence.”Added Issa, “Democrats may have skated out of today’s vote, but they can rest assured that Republicans will again demand a vote to hold Countrywide accountable.”

The Political Process
I've been on the receiving end of a political power struggle recently which is ridiculous considering that on the political food chain I'm just above the High School Senior completing service hours. For months I tried to ignore the petty overtures , but eventually I was forced to confront it. What little was left of the working relationship is now completly over. Which is really too bad because we were both working toward the same goals.
This experience made me remember why so many good people never get involved in politics on any level.
While growing up my family was very involved in NY politics and I got an inside look at how both the local and national level operated during the Reagan era. I saw people who should have been best friends become sworn enemies ( I happen to know they still hate each other to this day!!) Politics is a cut throat and nasty business, even within the same party.. especially when the party is in transition. Don't kid yourself, Politics is about self promotion, opinion and power. Those three ingredients can not be combined without a struggle. Even Mother Theresa and the Pope had a power struggle! ( Mother Theresa won, btw )
Today, the Republican Party is in transition. However, they not only have each other to struggle with over the direction of the party, but they have the Grassroots Movement nipping at their heals. The Old Guard is going to try to hold on to their power with everything they have. And the Grassroots have every intention of fighting them with everything we have. Only we should try very hard not to fight each other.. Right?. Fighting each other will be how the old guard gets to keep its power. As long as the new guard is divided, they can keep making their deals and deciding the future Party Leaders

Chuck Caputo's Gets Desperate
Chuck Caputo's internal poll numbers must not be looking very good, he's lowered himself to deceiving voters....
In a mailer delivered to voters on October 17, 2009, Chuck Caputo asserted that a company Jim LeMunyon co-founded in 1996, Sterling Semiconductor, failed to pay taxes, was sued for not paying bills, and “went bankrupt.”
There is one important fact Chuck overlooked: Jim and other investors sold Sterling Semiconductor in May 2000. In part because of the tragedy of September 11, 2001, the NEW OWNERS ran into financial trouble in late 2001 and 2002. Incredibly, Chuck Caputo wants to blame Jim!
For as long as Jim LeMunyon had financial responsibility for Sterling Semiconductor, every bill was paid.
The story has a happy ending. Sterling Semiconductor was sold in 2003 to the Dow Corning Corporation, and has been doing business under the Dow Corning name ever since. Keith Fimian beats Gerry Connolly in Campaign Contributions

A quick glance at 3rd quarter fundraising reports filed with the Federal Election Commission Thursday shows that entrepreneur and GOP candidate Keith Fimian out-raised Democrat Rep. Gerry Connolly by over $100,000 in the first three months of his candidacy.
Fimian raised $233,832 in total contributions and $286,332 in total receipts. Connolly raised $124,726 in total contributions and $176,736 in total receipts.
With over a quarter-million dollars on hand after just one fundraising quarter, Fimian has proved that he is once again poised to run a strong race against Connolly. But this time, Connolly will have to take responsibility for the lockstep liberal record he’s compiled in Congress, voting with Nancy Pelosi 97% of the time according to the Washington Post.
A recent Post poll found that Northern Virginians disapprove of Pelosi’s leadership by a 13-point margin: “In Virginia’s suburbs outside the capital, Pelosi wins support from 42 percent of the voters, better than her national average a few months ago, while 55 percent disapprove.”

Democrats launch attack on insurer exemption
Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Wednesday called for an amendment to the health care reform bill that would remove the long-standing antitrust exemption for insurers, echoing a push by other Democrats to crack down on the industry.
Schumer's push comes on the heels of a controversial industry-sponsored report released over the weekend that makes the case that insurance premiums will go up by as much as $4,000 per family by 2019 if the Senate Finance Committee legislation is signed into law. The release of that report by the industry group America’s Health Insurance Plans sparked angry blowback from Democrats in both chambers.
In the House, where Democratic leaders are exploring the issue further, Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers (D-Mich.) has introduced legislation that would essentially end McCarran-Ferguson and give the federal government the right to regulate insurers at the national level.

Washington has said it will relinquish some control over the way the network is run and allow foreign governments more of a say in the future of the system.
Icann – the official body that ultimately controls the development of the internet thanks to its oversight of web addresses such as .com, .net and .org – said today that it was ending its agreement with the US government.
The deal, part of a contract negotiated with the US department of commerce, effectively pushes California-based Icann towards a new status as an international body with greater representation from companies and governments around the globe.

Don't get too confident and think this campaign is over, The Republicans still need our help, especially on election day! Making phone calls on election day to get the vote out can make the difference between winning and losing!
