Web Censorship Bill Sails Through Senate Committee

COICA would allow the federal government to censor the internet without due process.

Because it is so ill-conceived and poorly written, the law professors wrote, “the Act, if enacted into law, will not survive judicial scrutiny, and will, therefore, never be used to address the problem (online copyright and trademark infringement) that it is designed to address. Its significance, therefore, is entirely symbolic — and the symbolism it presents is ugly and insidious. For the first time, the United States would be requiring Internet Service Providers to block speech because of its content.”
Scholars, lawyers, technologists, human rights groups and public interest groups have denounced the bill. Forty-nine prominent law professorscalled it “dangerous.” (pdf.) The American Civil Liberties Union and Human Rights Watch warned the bill could have “grave repercussions for global human rights.” (pdf.) Several dozen of the most prominent internet engineers in the country — many of whom were instrumental in the creation of the internet — said the bill will “create an environment of tremendous fear and uncertainty for technological innovation.” (pdf.) Several prominent conservative bloggers, including representatives from RedState.com, HotAir.com, The Next Right and Publius Forum, issued a call to help stop this “serious threat to the Internet.”

Democrats Plan to Attack Supreme Court Judges who Follow the Constitution

Picking a Supreme Court Judge the Alinsky way
from Politico
Democrats hope to turn the upcoming Supreme Court confirmation hearings into a referendum of sorts on controversial recent decisions by the Roberts court — portraying the conservative majority as a judicial Goliath trampling the rights of average Americans.

About the VAT tax that the Dems Are Salivating Over

Investor Business Daily Explains..
In "Impostor," his 2006 critique of George W. Bush's economic policies, Bartlett wrote: "In my view, the VAT lends itself to dealing with our long-term budget problem because it can be raised a little bit at a time without causing serious economic repercussions."

Lovers of big government have long yearned for a VAT, and statements made by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi make it clear that she is salivating for its enactment to pay for some of the Democrats' endless spending spree.

How unpopular is the VAT? The best person to ask would have been the late Democrat Al Ullman. As chairman of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee during much of the 1970s, he was one of the most powerful politicians in Washington. But he actually lost the Oregon congressional seat he had held for decades after championing the VAT.

First cooked up by France, the VAT's hidden nature is what gets ordinary Americans justifiably furious when they hear talk of it. Steve Forbes and Elizabeth Ames, in their new book "How Capitalism Will Save Us," call the VAT "insidious because it imposes an invisible layer of taxation that inflates the cost of living . .. increases the cost of doing business and hits all consumers."

As Hoover Institution flat-tax gurus Robert E. Hall and Alvin Rabushka have warned, a VAT is unacceptable "to most Americans on grounds of equity" because "by taxing consumption from the first dollar at the same rate, it puts a substantial tax burden on the poor." It therefore "is rarely considered as a replacement for the income tax."

But it would also inflict an inflationary assault — the last thing our economy needs right now. "Experience in Europe has made it plain that the incorporation of the VAT in product prices is not just an academic proposition," Hall and Rabushka point out.

"Not only are prices marked up by the amount of the VAT as soon as the tax goes into place," the economists add, "but there are second and third rounds of inflation as wages respond to higher prices through cost-of-living escalation. In 1979, when Britain raised its VAT rate while cutting income tax rates, a burst of inflation crippled the economy for several years."

The statists now running Washington are too in love with income taxes to replace them with a VAT; it's an added value-added tax they want, starting at a "painlessly" low rate, then growing like a cancer.

Crash the tea parties!

On April 15th thousands of right-wingers will attend rallies in cities and towns across the United States. The organizers of this nationwide day of protest call it a tea party. This tea party movement that emerged only a year ago is a coalition of conservatives, anti-Semites, fascists, libertarians, racists, constitutionalists, militia men, gun freaks, homophobes, Ron Paul supporters, Alex Jones conspiracy types and American flag wavers. If the tea party movement continues to grow in size and strength there is a big chance they will dominate this country in the near future. If the tea party movement takes over this country they will really hurt poor people by getting rid of social programs like food stamps, unemployment benefits, disability benefits, student aid, free health care, etc. The tea party movement will say these programs must be gotten rid of because hard-working taxpayers cannot afford to pay for these things especially when the economy is in a depression. There are three options we have with the tea party movement:

1. Organize counter-protests against the tea party demonstrations, same time, same place. This is probably the best option. We need to get in the streets on April 15th and show the tea party movement that there are lots of people out there who oppose their agenda.

2. Get individual tea party protesters to leave the right-wing and move to the left politically. That would involve passing out stuff like this at the tea party demonstrations: http://www.anarchist-studies.org/node/299

HAS THE GOVERNMENT BECOME A BULLY?

Read the whole thing and then PASS IT ON

Let us count the ways.....

They all but nationalized the American auto industry (save Ford), overriding debtor rights and decades of law. They have also taken over chunks of the financial industry and, via their control over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, much of the housing industry. Many salaries will be set by the White House. Education, a local matter, is increasingly becoming a federal one. The student loan industry has also been brought in-house
The smash-and-grab style of governing has since run rampant: rules, regulations, taxes, and mandates; the proliferation of unelected czars; the orders and commands; the abuse of power; the diktats-all stuffed down our throats.

Does it feel like we are all being waterboarded?

The Department of Justice has hired a legion of lawyers for its Civil Rights Division. They will be busy investigating businesses across America for violations of civil rights laws. Fine -- but they will be using what is called a "disparate impact" standard. Under that criterion, any business that has job standards -- even legitimate ones -- that happen to result in fewer minorities being hired than the DOJ sees fit will be hit with the full might of the Justice Department, which has been staffed with a coven of radical lawyers. Not to be outdone, the Education Department will also be sending out investigators to ensure that schools do not discriminate, either. Discrimination is often in the eye of the beholder, and under Eric Holder, I can guarantee you that those eyes will see racism across the breadth of America (because, after all, we are a nation of racists). Businesses, local government, schools -- all will be bullied in the years ahead.

But wait...there's more.

The Environmental Protection Agency has gone mental -- off the deep end

LEFT WING RADICAL ANTI SEMITIC OBAMACARE SUPPORTERS Shoot UP Eric Cantor's Campiagn office

Think we'll see that Headline on the front page of the Washington Post?

Republican Rep. Eric Cantor said Thursday that his Richmond campaign office has been shot at and that he's received "threatening e-mails" -- but at the same time accused top Democrats of trying to exploit the threats they've been receiving for "political gain."

Cantor said "a bullet was shot through the window" of his campaign office. The incident happened Monday, Fox News has learned, the latest in a rash of apparent threats and acts of intimidation against members of Congress. Most of the threats so far have been reported by Democrats, but Cantor -- the No. 2 Republican in the House -- is one of about 10 lawmakers who has asked for increased security protection
And he admonished his colleagues -- specifically Rep. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., and Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine -- for "dangerously fanning the flames by suggesting these incidents be used as a political weapon."

UPDATE..U.S. Capitol Police are investigating a threatening voicemail left in the office of Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-Ohio), her chief of staff said Thursday
here's the message..
Yes, uh. Yeah, I'm glad, uh. the president passed healthcare, yeah. Funky-ass, racist-ass Republicans hate that, don't you? Jean [sic] Smith, when you got hit by that car or when you fell or whatever, you should've broke your back, b***h. You, and Boehner motherf***er, that Mitch McConnell -- all you racist f***ing Republicans. Why don't you just change y'all's party name to "racist"? 'Cause if one of those little f***ing Teabaggers would've spit on me, I would have socked them in the f***ing face with my f***ing .09 mm. F*** all you racist motherf***ers.

Do Ya think these reports will be all over the News or on the Front Page of Politico the NYT or WaPo?

I doubt it too.

RUSH LIMBAUGH

When are the Democrats going to distance themselves from the threats Limbaugh and all the other conservative voices get on a daily basis?

Where Were You When the Republic Died?

American Thinker

In 1776, the American Republic boldly announced its birth with the Declaration of Independence. In 2010, it quietly expired with a declaration of dependence -- on government, on entitlement, and on the Democratic party.

Socialist Democrats Plan to Run against Bush and The Tea Party in the 2010 election

Whahahaah.
Their master plan is to get all their puppets in the media to paint us all as far right, white racists

Democrats are reportedly busy devising a strategy as a firewall against a citizen revolt at the polls. Rather than emphasize their party's accomplishments, they will attack Republicans for wanting to restore the discredited Bush era. "The Republican party in Washington today is no different than the Republican party that ran the Congress before," Rep. Chris Van Hollen, head of the Democratic House campaign committee, told the liberal Talking Points Memo.

Without delay, campaign strategists are advising Democratic clients to use bloggers, phone banks, direct mail and canvassers to try to create a negative impression of their GOP opponents. Labeling their GOP candidates as being part of the Sarah Palin or Tea Party wing of the GOP will be the key element. One Democratic consultant told Huffington Post that the 2010 election "basically comes down to one thing. You've got to kick the [bleep] out of somebody."

Chris Matthews at the State Owned MSNBC has already begun his propaganda campaign..
This nonsense worked for the 2008 election will Americans fall for it again?

Who Does Allah give a B+ to?

Hint....
she (a) passed the stimulus bill, (b) passed a cap-and-trade bill that’s dead on arrival in the Senate, and (c) passed an ObamaCare bill that’s headed for the trash can once Reid passes something and demands that she ping-pong it, which she may not have the votes to do. During her downtime, she’s repeatedly impugned the patriotism of her opponents. Oh, and she also managed to become one of the most widely loathed politicians in America, to the point where the GOP’s planning to use her instead of Obama as its chief boogeyman in attack ads next fall.
